Just wondering what the law is, I've heard different things
I know the yellow light times vary, but do you have to be out of the intersection before the light changes to not get a ticket in Georgia?Do you have to be in the intersection before the traffic light turns red or clear of the intersection?
I'm not certain about Georgia, but here in California if you are over the white line, IN the intersection when the light turns red, you are legally safe to proceed. It's only when you cross the white line after the light changes to red that it becomes illegal. Crossing the white line during red light is what triggers the ';ticket camera'; to get you.
If you know anyone who has been to traffic school for a ticket, they might know precisely about the rules in your area. You could also ask any traffic cop you encounter and he/she should tell you.Do you have to be in the intersection before the traffic light turns red or clear of the intersection?
yes as the yellow is prepare to stop
