I've noticed that when I take pictures with my Digital Camera in an area where there are many lights like a concert or in a tunnel, the pictures are always very blurry. How can I fix that? What could I do? I also never use flash. I have a 10mp digital camera, I wish I could afford an SLR. I will read all your answers.
-Thank YouHow can I take clear Pictures with many light sources?
Your camera isn't focusing on the lite part of the picture, it's focusing, or trying to focus, on the darker area that's closer to you than the light source. It doesn't know you want to see more of what's lite, so the shutter speed goes down to absorb enough light to get the detail of the dark area. Try chaning your aperature, most digital cameras will give you the option. Another trick, focus your camera on the area that's lite, and once it's set, quickly move it to the darker area you want to be seen and snap the shot. (SLR cameras have gone down in price too, you may be able to find one on ebay or something) Good luck! How can I take clear Pictures with many light sources?
First, you should examine your pictures closely to see what kind of blur you have. Look at one on your monitor and zoom in. If small bright features show up as streaks or squiggles, the blur is due to too slow a shutter speed. If edges are simply indistinct all around, the problem is poor focus.
A slow shutter is caused by too little light. If you can push up the ISO, that may help. Otherwise, you will have to steady the camera more. A camera support such as a tripod or monopod will work best, if feasible. Just concentrating on holding the camera very still may be enough. You can also make use of whatever support is available - rest the camera against a wall, the back of a chair, or even someone's shoulder.
If poor focus is the problem, you'll need to experiment to see how to get the camera to focus where you want. Some cameras let you select a particular spot in the viewfinder for focus; check your manual or explore the menus. You can lock in focus and exposure on that spot by holding the shutter button partway down while you frame the shot. Worst case, you may have to resort to manual focus, if available.
