Some for me:
Speaking in Tongues - Talking Heads, with ';This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)'; as the standout
Curtis - Curtis Mayfield, with ';(Don't Worry) If There's a Hell Below, We're All Going to Go'; as the standout
What think you?
BQ: Talking Heads vs. Curtis MayfieldWhat are some albums that have one very clear high-light?
c'mon, how bout some respect for we the people who are darker than blue and burning down the house
ummm... mississippi goddamn from nina simone in concert 1964
BQ: love both, i lean curtis right now.What are some albums that have one very clear high-light?
Deep Purple - 'Deep Purple In Rock' (1970)
';Child In Time';
This song is extremely epic, and although the entire album is amazing, ';Child in Time'; is easily the best song on the album, in my opinion.
Black Sabbath - 'Paranoid' (1970)
';War Pigs';
My favorite Black Sabbath song. So epic, filled with tons of great riffs, and cool solos. I love the slow, doomy intro. Although I love the entire album, no other song on it compares to ';War Pigs';
BQ:
I apologise, but I don't really listen to either!
RED ROSE SPEEDWAY by Paul McCartney
known by me for one song ... the towering My Love
also known as the last album by Paul that John Lennon bothered with listening to...
for what ever reason when I was consuming anything Beatles related growing up, I was never fond of this particular album and when i saw your question, this was the first thing that poped into my head!
What think I...
I think of just about all of the Queen albums that way. For some more specific ones here are a few:
Fun Trick Noisemaker - Tidal Wave
Revolver - Tomorrow Never Knows
1999 - 1999
Dirty - 100%
Violent Femmes - Add It Up
Bryter Layter - Fly
Loaded - Sweet Jane
Talking Heads
A couple I've come across
F*ck - F*ckmotel (from the album Pardon My French)
Polvo - Thermal Treasure (from Today's Active Lifestyles, good record, but that song is just awesome)
Talking Heads although I don't know much Curtis Mayfield.
American Stars 'N Bars - Neil Young
The whole album itself is really great but the most obvious highlight has to be Like A Hurricane. One of Neils best songs for sure.
