Do youhave to reset a check engine light on a 1998 mazda626 or will it clear it slef when the problem is fixed

You have to put a reader on your ecm and it will be able to clear the code. Stop buy a parts store like autozone or checker, kragen, napa and that sort of store or go to a mach. and havle them do it but it will cost you. You can also go to the part store and buy a OBD1 or 2 reader and due it you self. You will make alkinds of new Friends. Yes and no........Most cars when the check engine light comes on it could be an array of problems anything from a problem with the air bag to a problem in the evac system to the engine or transmission actually being fried....I say yes because if you take it to a dealer or business to have the problem fixed they are going to hook it up to a computer and check for issues then they can reset that light after making any necessary ( or unnecessary ) repairs.....and I say no because if you are having a friend w/o the equipment or know how that light still has to be reset......hope I helpedDo youhave to reset a check engine light on a 1998 mazda626 or will it clear it slef when the problem is fixed
disconnect the battery and this will clear it temporarily unless the problem is serious.
I don't know, but I went to the Mazda website and you can easily just register for an account there and then read the instruction manual. Maybe it says there? My guess is, you don't have to reset it. Usually you only have to reset the ';Service needed'; lights on cars.
