Is having clear lights on a car class it as modified on insurance?

i have just bought a 307 2.0 hdi and thinking of putting clear lights on the back to match the front but was wondering if it class it as modified on insurance any hep will be appreciated thanksIs having clear lights on a car class it as modified on insurance?
Yes it will be classed as a modification, you must declare it and it will have no effect on your premium as it has no effect on the risk.

Insurer may ask for written confirmation from you that the light units are ';E'; marked and so suitable for road use - some that you can buy are not.

In the event of a crash or theft then the insurer will only replace to normal out of the factory standards.

Once upon a time these lexus style lights were rare and i nearly got some myself - now all the boy racers have them, there are loads around and so I chooose other things to personalise. Is having clear lights on a car class it as modified on insurance?
By modified, they are mostly worried about something like a supercharger or body kit. Clear lights makes no difference. Unless it is something that seriously affects the overall value of the vehicle, there's no need to notify them. The less contact you have with an insurance company, the better!
I don`t understand what you mean by clear lights at the back, if you mean instead of the red side lights, this would be illegal, if you mean something totally different, then I am sorry but I don't know.
Probably not, but be careful as clear lights are sometimes illegal and can lead to a fix it ticket.

But no, generally modified means adding a supercharger or something like that.
You don't have to tell them BUT... If you get rear ended and they are damaged, the insurance company will only pay for standard fit replacements.
yes it does it might not affect your premium but you must inform your insurance of any part that is different from the manufacturers part cos if you dont your insurance could be invalid
No its not classed as modified
depends on what you call clear lights .remember no white light to show on rear of veichles, reverse lights excepted
no it doesnt count as a mod, engine etc performance wise it would.
