an arm %26amp; a leg?)Is there a descent digital camera out there that can take fast clear pictures in low light (that does not cost?
The thing you'r not understanding is that all automatic cameras, just like your eyes, have to adjust to light they ';see';. Given that, your camera, any camera, is going to have a dificult time focusing in low light without the ';pre-flash'; that most cameras use. That light gives the camera something to grab onto for focus.
If you can use manual focus you could try that but it's going to take lots longer and your going to be disapointed because most of the time your shoulds will be out of focus.
Face it, even a camera that costs a lot... depending on what you call a lot - my Rebel XS. Today I was shooting low light in the house. I couldn't focus without the pre-flash and that always takes a few seconds. What you're asking for isn't out there... not currently anyway. Is there a descent digital camera out there that can take fast clear pictures in low light (that does not cost?
Not really. Fast clear pictures in low light need fast large aperture lenses and a camera that can handle high ISO settings. Both the lenses and the cameras are very expensive.
Point and shoot cameras, even the best ones have neither of these things. Consumer grade DSLR's are much better than any point and shoot but still are not good enough.
Unfortunately if you want high quality pictures in low light there is no substitute for a mid to high end SLR and a large aperture lens. These cost a good deal of money though.
