Why my hot water is not clear but a light brown colour?

If you've just moved in, the water has been in the hot water system too long - flush it out by running the water until it turns clear.

If it has only just turned brown, get it looked at by a plumber. Why my hot water is not clear but a light brown colour?
Pipes are rusty. Why my hot water is not clear but a light brown colour?
DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PLUMBING BUT I THINK YOU NEED A PLUMBER..... THATS NOT RIGHT TO HAVE BROWN WATER, MAYBE THE HOT WATER IS HEATING UP THE PIPES AND SOME OF THE GUNK AND STUFF IS COMING OFF THE PIPES INSIDE... DONT REALLY KNOW, JUST GUESSING MY ADDVICE IS TO CALL A PLUMBER
Your water heater has probably built up some rust in it. Is it only the hot water or is it the cold too? If the cold has it too, then it's a possible problem with your city or well water.
Could be a couple of things: pipes are dirty (try bleaching them), or too many impurities in the water (copper etc.). Probably just rust though- especially if you haven't used them much recently. If you keep running the taps, it should run clear soon enough.
You may have rust in the bottom of your hot water tank and if so it could be rotting out the bottom. We had this happen once and the tank burst. The easiest way to tell is turn off power to your tank, drain it, take out heating element in bottom and look inside with a flashlight if you still can't tell trying reaching inside with a finger on some small device to see if you can get any dredge from the bottom.
it depends if you have a wellor if ther is to much sediment in your water heater.,
