Yes thats part of the aura, now put your hand near a white or black back ground and gaze at your knouckle or inbetween your thumb and pointer finger and gaze beyond it, relax and just let it happen dont try to force it. Some say that focusing on the third eye helps as well.
If you want to know what the color means, hard to say really, Most people cant see the true color in the beginning, they instead see white blues greens or yellows.
but heres what some would say about light greens, an overinflated ego, artistic ( this is more for a pale green i think. normal green is loving and trusting . Those with lots of green in the aura are commonly nature lovers as well. Hard to really give much meaning to it with out seeing the arua over all. I mean the aura has 7 layers to it so....
